Awards available to help with publishing costs
To assist faculty and staff with publishing efforts, the University Libraries Subvention Program was created to help cover article processing charges or book publishing charges with contributed funds totaling $30,000 from each college, the university libraries and the offices of the provost and vice chancellor for research and innovation.

Barbato talks wildfire risk assessment and mitigation tomorrow
Dr. Michele Barbato, professor of structural engineering and structural mechanics in civil and environmental engineering at the University of California, Davis, will give a presentation titled “Wildfire Risk Assessment and Mitigation Approaches for the Built Environment.”

Missouri S&T to host fall observatory events
Amateur astronomers are invited to observe the skies through the 16-inch telescope at the Missouri S&T Observatory. Weather permitting, the S&T Astronomical Research Society (STARS) will host free viewings throughout the fall semester.

Student funding available for medical research
Do you have an interest in medical research? Dr. Kamal Khayat, vice chancellor for research and innovation, announces the availability of four $1,000 fellowships supported by the John W. Claypool Fund for Medical Research. Competition for the awards is open to all undergraduate and graduate students who perform medical research activities during the 2025 spring semester.
