Counseling services available

Counseling, disability support and student wellness offers counseling services to faculty, staff and students by appointment during regular business hours, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Group therapy is also available. To make an appointment, call 341-4211, or visit Room 204 Norwood Hall. During crisis events, counselors can be contacted after hours by calling Missouri S&T Police at 341-4300.

CGS seeks presenters for Ignite Rolla

Play by S&T professor to run at the Lyric Live Theater

“Desperate Measures,” a play by Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics, will be presented Friday, Sept. 30; Saturday, Oct. 1; Friday, Oct. 7; and Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Lyric Live Theater, located at 117 First St. in Newburg, Missouri. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the shows start at 7 p.m. Admission is free and donations to the theater are accepted. Refreshments during intermission will be provided at the historic Houston House. “Desperate Measures” is a comedy that tells the story of a struggling theater’s attempt to put on one last play before its doors close forever to make way for a fast-food restaurant.

Flu shot clinic begins Oct. 6

The flu season is coming, and Healthy for Life is offering flu shot clinics on campus. Missouri S&T faculty, staff, dependents (12 years and older, accompanied by an adult) and retirees who are enrolled in a University of Missouri System medical plan can have a flu shot covered by their insurance. All other faculty and staff can get flu shots for $20 to be paid by cash or check. The clinics will be held as follows:
