The Council of Graduate Students (CGS) is seeking interested participants to present at Ignite Rolla. The event, sponsored by CGS, will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in St. Pat’s Ballroom C of the Havener Center. Interested presenters should submit abstracts for consideration by Friday, Oct. 7.

“Desperate Measures,” a play by Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics, will be presented Friday, Sept. 30; Saturday, Oct. 1; Friday, Oct. 7; and Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Lyric Live Theater, located at 117 First St. in Newburg, Missouri. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the shows start at 7 p.m. Admission is free and donations to the theater are accepted. Refreshments during intermission will be provided at the historic Houston House. “Desperate Measures” is a comedy that tells the story of a struggling theater’s attempt to put on one last play before its doors close forever to make way for a fast-food restaurant.

The flu season is coming, and Healthy for Life is offering flu shot clinics on campus. Missouri S&T faculty, staff, dependents (12 years and older, accompanied by an adult) and retirees who are enrolled in a University of Missouri System medical plan can have a flu shot covered by their insurance.
