150th anniversary open forum is April 2nd
Join members of the 150th Advisory Committee for an interactive open forum 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A of the Havener Center. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.
The university will celebrate its 150th anniversary through a series of events and projects from October 2020 through November 2021.
At the forum, you’ll hear from members of the 150th Advisory Committee as they share a brief overview of the project timeline and outline opportunities to get involved and provide feedback.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to provide input during the planning process.
Department of Chemistry and Center for Research on Energy and Environment host Professor Susan Kauzlarich
Department and Chemistry and Center for Research on Energy and Environment will be hosting Professor Susan Kauzlarich, professor of chemistry from UC Davis, California for a departmental seminar in Chemistry on 4th March 2019. Prof. Kauzlarich will present a seminar entitled, “Applications of Zintl Phases for Direct Thermal to Electrical Energy” in G3 Schrenk Hall from 4:15 – 5:15 pm. Light refreshments will be served before the seminar.

Registration is open for the 2019 Undergraduate Research Conference and closes on March 5th. The 15th Annual Missouri S&T Undergraduate Research Conference will be held April 16, 2019 at the Havener Center. This event provides opportunities for students to showcase research efforts to the campus community and to the public. . Applications for the 2019-2020 OURE Program are open. Applications are due no later than May 1, 2019 in the Experiential Learning Office at 119 Student Design & Experiential Learning Center. Volunteer with Gonzo Gives Back during St. Pats Break
Gonzo Gives back is an annual Service project day done through Student Involvement and community partners from around the Rolla area. Students, faculty, and staff can participate in a service project from 8am-12pm on March 14th by registering on Orgsync by March 8th. Free T-shirts will be given out to everyone that registers and there will be free donuts in the morning before the service project begins. Pats points will be awarded to participating organizations: 75 points for 1-3 participants, 100 points for 4+ participants. Student ticket sale: String quartet ETHEL with Robert Mirabal
A $10 rush ticket sale for S&T students will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, February 22 for that evening’s concert featuring New York-based contemporary string quartet ETHEL, performing with Grammy Award-winning Native American musician Robert Mirabal. The performance will take place at Leach Theatre in Castleman Hall at 7:30 pm. Students must present a valid S&T student ID card at the box office in Castleman Hall on Friday, February 22 to purchase a $10 ticket to the performance (regular price = $35). Limit 1 discounted ticket per student. Sale runs from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and will continue from 6:30-7:30 pm before the show.
