Research and assessment institutes ticketing system
To manage, track and prioritize the volume of requests for data, the office of institutional research and assessment has a new data request ticketing system. Go to ira.mst.edu, and under “Quick Link” click “Request Data.”
Read More »Free student tickets available for “Good Kids”
Missouri S&T students with a valid student I.D. can receive free tickets for the Miner League Theatre Players performance of “Good Kids.” Free student tickets must be reserved in advance at the box office by calling 341-4219. Students will be asked to show their I.D. when they pick up the tickets.
“Good Kids,” a play about sexual assault, will be performed in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, through Saturday, Oct. 31, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1.
Students in several courses will receive extra credit for attending the play. Faculty members are asked to remind their students of this policy and that free tickets are still available.

The undergraduate advising office will host a midterm recovery workshop for struggling students 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in St. Pat’s A&B in the Havener Center. Refreshments will be provided.

Educational Technology (EdTech) has opened the Computer Learning Centers (CLC) software request process for instructors who need specific software packages installed in CLCs around campus. Visit the EdTech website for more details. Requests must be entered before close of business Friday, Nov. 6.

Read More »Haynes to step down as ALP chair
Dr. Lance Haynes, chair of arts, languages, and philosophy since 2010, will step down from that role effective Jan. 1, 2016. He will remain on the faculty in a teaching and research capacity and will continue to coordinate the multidisciplinary studies program. Haynes, who is also a professor of speech and media studies, joined the faculty as an assistant professor in 1984. “I’ve enjoyed serving as chair but I’m looking forward to reinventing myself as a professor once again,” Haynes says.

Healthy for Life is offering flu shot clinics on campus to faculty, staff, dependents (12 years and older, accompanied by an adult), and retirees who are enrolled in a University of Missouri medical plan, which will be covered by insurance. For all other faculty and staff, flu shots are $20 cash or check. Flu shot clinics will be open in October and November on the campus. Special Olympics Missouri, in partnership with Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity at Missouri S&T, will host a “Cops and Miners” paintball tournament Saturday, Nov. 7, at Paintball Preserve, located at 12285 County Road 5280 in Rolla. Form a team of five to compete against area law enforcement agencies in a two-game elimination tournament. There are only 25 team slots available, so act fast.
