Secure infrastructure design topic of computer science seminar

Dr. Aditya Mathur will present the Computer Science Distinguished Seminar, “Challenges in Designing Secure Critical Infrastructure,” at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, in Room 209 Computer Science Building. Mathur is professor and head of the information systems technology and design pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and director of iTrust, a research center for cyber security.

Retirement reception planned for Patty Frisbee

The student success programs office will host a farewell and retirement reception for Patty Frisbee 2:30-4:30 p.m. Monday, May 1, in the Missouri-Ozark Room in the Havener Center. Frisbee, director of student success programs, has served the university 34 years. The campus community is invited to celebrate her contributions to the S&T campus and enjoy light refreshments.

May 5 is Denim Day

Students in Joe’s PEERS are hosting Denim Day on Friday, May 5, to raise awareness of sexual violence. To participate, wear jeans on May 5 for a $5 donation to the Russell House, a local non-profit organization that provides services to victims of family violence and their children. If your department will participate, email healthed@mst.edu by Wednesday, May 3, with a number of participants so the Joe’s PEERS can pick up the donations and deliver the official Denim Day pins.

Register for training on paying for goods, services

University of Missouri System’s accounts payable shared services team will present “How to Pay for Goods and Services” at two sessions Tuesday, May 15, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. The training is designed for employees who work directly with these transactions, approve them or supervise employees who do. Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Choose to attend training at 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m. Register on the accounts payable shared services site.

Parking lots M, B open

Due to changes in plans for the block party for students Friday, April 21, Parking Area B Lot 13, Lot V for visitors and Area M, Lot 36 will not be closed as previously planned and announced. The block party has been moved to the Rec Center and the fireworks display has been cancelled. Individuals with M or B permits may park in the lots as they normally would.
