Check out S&T calendar, add your event

Learn about the latest campus happenings at calendar.mst.edu. The online calendar is Missouri S&T’s official events calendar. Adding an event is simple; click the orange “submit an event” button. You’ll be asked to sign in with your university ID and password and then you can include the time, date and other details about the S&T event that you’d like people to attend. The calendar is published in several places on Missouri S&T’s website and feeds to the main website.

Memorial service today for Raymond Light

Raymond Light, retired preventative maintenance worker in physical facilities, died Saturday, Dec. 16. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. today (Friday, Dec. 22) at the Central Community Church of God, located at 400 N. Olive St. in Rolla.

Memorial service planned for George McPherson

George McPherson Jr., professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Missouri S&T, died Monday, Dec. 18. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Rolla. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Friends Service Committee. McPherson, a member of the S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering, joined the Missouri S&T faculty in 1956 and retired in 1985.

Memorial service planned for Nichole Wescott

A memorial service for Nichole Wescott will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Faircreek Church, located at 2400 Faircreek Ridge Drive in Fairborn, Ohio. Wescott, a former Missouri S&T mining engineering student from New Carlisle, Ohio, died Monday, Dec. 4. In lieu of flowers, Wescott’s family suggests contributions made in her memory to Equus Rescue and Therapy.

Make it a Wellness Wednesday during the power outage

Employees affected by tomorrow’s power outage on campus may earn up to 75 Wellness points by attending the three sessions offered by Dr. Cynthia Crawford, who will present three sessions on retirement planning, physical and emotional well-being, and Social Security. Wednesday’s power outage: What you need to know

As previously announced, many buildings on campus will be without power on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Due to safety concerns, no employee or student should be in any building that is without power during the scheduled outage. Faculty and staff affected by the outage have alternate work arrangements and opportunities available. Interim Chancellor Chris Maples has authorized the following alternative work arrangements for Dec. 20. Employees must receive supervisor approval for any of these alternative work arrangements, including training and volunteer opportunities. The following options are available to all employees.

Winter break schedule announced for campus mail services

Campus mail services will be open for limited hours with limited staffing from Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 29. Mail will not be delivered and mail will not be picked up on these days. Mail in campus mail receptacles will not be collected. If your department wishes to receive mail, you may pick it up 9 a.m.-noon from the campus mail room, located in Room G7 in the lower level of the Campus Support Facility. To contact the mail room, please call 341-4448.
