Construction projects to affect water, deionizer at Schrenk Hall

The hot water, cold water, gas and air will be shut down Tuesday, Aug. 14, throughout Schrenk Hall. Unless there are complications, the building will be back in service Wednesday, Aug. 15. Deionized water will not be available Thursday, Aug. 16, throughout Schrenk Hall. Deionized water will be available again Friday, Aug. 17.

Toomey Hall fire this morning

At 3:16 a.m. today (Tuesday, Aug. 7), the City of Rolla Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm in Toomey Hall. Firefighters determined that a small fire (about the size of a desk) had occurred as part of an experiment in a research lab on the second floor. The sprinkler system extinguished the fire, and fire damage was limited to a desktop and equipment within the experiment. While there was no fire damage to Toomey Hall, there was limited water damage due to sprinkler activation.

Math researchers receive NSF grant
