Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is an Islamic holiday commemorating the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham in Judeo-Christian traditions) to sacrifice his son, Ismail (Ishmael).

On Monday, July 1, library and learning services will change its name to University Libraries. This change marks the first renaming since 1980, when the current name was adopted during a university reorganization. Additionally, Dr. Bella Gerlich’s title will be updated from dean of libraries to vice provost and dean of libraries.
