As part of the campus strategic planning process, the mathematics and statistics department is in the process of redesigning the courses that make up the calculus sequence. The committee working on the redesign is interested in learning the campus community’s perceptions of the current calculus sequence at S&T. S&T Gaffer’s Guild is having a glass sale in the McNutt Hall commons from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, and Friday, Nov. 22. They will also have sale dates following Thanksgiving on Thursday, Dec. 5, and Friday Dec. 6. Stop by and buy some glass presents made by students here on campus. The S&T Softball Team is selling original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Orders can be for campus delivery or for an in-store redeemable certificate. Doughnuts are $6 per dozen, or purchase a certificate that can be redeemed at Krispy Kreme locations, with most stores located in the St. Louis area participating. Missouri S&T surplus property will have a surplus garage sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the surplus property building located at 301 N. Bishop Avenue in Rolla. Items for sale include computers, chairs, bookshelves, books, televisions, laptops, pictures and other small items.

The MOBIUS online library catalog at Curtis Laws Wilson Library, which allows users to request items from Missouri libraries outside the University of Missouri System, will be unavailable for requests on Monday, Nov. 18. Requests for items from other UM System universities (MU, UMKC and UMSL) will still be available through the MERLIN online catalog.

Starting in January 2014, Dr. Daniel Oerther, the John A. and Susan Mathes Professor of Environmental Engineering at S&T, will begin a three-year term as treasurer of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES).

All proceeds will help the Missouri S&T International Genetically Engineered Machines (iGEM) Team.
