Outstanding advising recognized

Each year the student life department invites student organizations to nominate an adviser for outstanding service. These awards were established to highlight the importance of student organization advising by dedicated faculty and staff, who voluntarily support student organizations to reach their full potential. This year’s nominees are:

New Advisor of the Year nominees:

Kandis Rodgers, Blue Key Honor Society

Dr. Chris Ramsay, Solar House Team

Stephen Tupper, S&T Student Veterans Association

Advisor of the Year nominees:

Heath Pickerill, Solar House Team

Dr. Runar Nygaard, American Association of Drilling Engineers

Dr. Steven Corns, International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE)

Dr. Greg Hilmas, Material Advantage

Dr. Dan Lin, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-Computer Society (IEEE-CS) student branch

Walter Bethea, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

Distinguished Advisor of the Year nominees:

Meg Brady, Lambda Sigma Pi

Cynthia Guess, Society of Women Engineers

Dr. David Westenberg, International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Design Team

All nominees will be acknowledged at the annual Advisor Awards Breakfast with Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader, which starts at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in St. Pat’s Ballroom B of the Havener Center.
