S&T hosts first National Summer Transportation Institute

Sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration through the Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri S&T welcomed 15 rising students in grades 10-12 for the inaugural National Summer Transportation Institute. S&T’s civil, architectural and environmental engineering department hosted the program in collaboration with the Kummer Center for STEM Education July 21-26.

Princeton Review rates S&T high for ROI, career placement, internships

Missouri S&T is one of the nation’s best public universities when it comes to return on investment, career placement for its graduates and student internships, according to the Princeton Review’s latest “Best Value Colleges” ranking, released June 20. S&T is also the highest-rated public university in the state in all three categories.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) recently announced its 2024 Circle of Excellence winners. Missouri S&T earned a grand gold award – the highest honor possible – for a photography series produced for a project with S&T’s “Foliagraft” student research team.

Liu, Zhang present at international transportation conference

The 7th International Conference on Transportation Infrastructure and Materials was held on June 14-16, in Chongqing, China. Dr. Jenny Liu, James A. Heidman Professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, and Dr. Xiong Zhang, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, were invited to give keynote presentations at the conference.

Remington R. Williams Award recipient announced

Ryan Highfill, a senior in civil engineering and engineering management from Ozark, Missouri, has been named a 2024 recipient of the Remington R. Williams Award. Highfill is the executive director of the Associated Students of the University of Missouri and a former chapter president of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.
