Missouri S&T’s College of Engineering and Computing held its Fall 2024 awards ceremony in December at the Havener Center, and several staff and faculty members were presented with honors.

Students build with food donations in CANstruction competition
Participating in S&T’s Staff Council food and toy drive, the civil, architectural and environmental engineering department collected more than 4,500 food items, beating the previous department record of 3,100 items. Students entered the Architectural Engineering Institute’s national CANstruction student competition building three models completely out of the donated food items – a Christmas tree, Santa’s sleigh and a three-car train.

Fourteen S&T researchers are listed as the most prolific contributors in their topics from 2019 to 2023 in Scopus, a multidisciplinary abstract and citation database and website, maintained by the Elsevier publishing company.

Dr. Daniel B. Oerther, environmental health engineering professor, was awarded the Duncan Fraser Global Award for Excellence in Engineering Education from the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES).
