Six students complete Dean’s Undergraduate Research Scholars program

Six students have completed the College of Engineering and Computing’s two-semester Dean’s Undergraduate Research Scholars program. Each scholar received a $2,000 scholarship and a $500 research budget per semester to support their faculty-mentored projects.

These students include:

  • Austin Beckerdite, a senior in computer engineering. His advisors are Dr. Sahra Sedigh Sarvestani, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, and Dr. Ali Hurson, professor of electrical and computer engineering.
  • Cole Hopper, a senior in aerospace engineering. His advisor is Dr. Davide Viganò, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
  • Alexander Jackson, a senior in aerospace engineering. His advisor is Dr. Hank Pernicka, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of aerospace engineering.
  • Anna Schroeter, a senior in aerospace engineering. Her advisor is Dr. Davide Viganò, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
  • Eliana Stanislawski, a senior in mechanical engineering. Her advisor is Dr. Jonghyun Park, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
  • Brayden Uber, a senior in computer science. His advisor is Dr. Jay Park, Kummer Endowed Chair of Computer Science.

Students must be enrolled full time and have a 3.4 grade point average to receive funding. Those interested in participating in the program should contact their advisor for more information and complete an application.
