Passing of Dr. Terry Lenhoff

Dr. Terry Lenhoff, professor emeritus of mechanical engineering, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, at the age of 84. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the Greentree Christian Church Worship Center, located at 800 Greentree Road in Rolla.

Missouri S&T to open first building in Arrival District

The Innovation Lab, a 50,000-square-foot hub that will serve as a home for student innovation, creativity and discovery, will open Monday, Feb. 12. The Innovation Lab will be the first building completed in S&T’s Arrival District. When finished, this district will connect the entry from Interstate 44 to the campus through a series of landscape and building projects.

S&T student-designed satellite to launch in early March

Students from S&T’s Satellite Research Team have taken steps for years toward having a satellite orbit the Earth, and their efforts will soon pay off with a giant leap. In March 2024, the team, advised by Dr. Hank Pernicka, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of aerospace engineering, expects to have a satellite launched into space via SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. Use pedestrian detour to cross Hwy 63

As part of the construction of S&T’s new pedestrian underpass, some sidewalks will be closed to create the new promenade. Pedestrians are urged to use the pedestrian tunnel to cross U.S. Highway 63. The crosswalk will be closed.
