Emily Bullock is an office assistant for materials science and engineering. She has worked at S&T for 4.5 years.
What do you most enjoy about working at Missouri S&T?
I enjoy helping the students during their time here and seeing them accomplish their goals. I also enjoy working with my coworkers — especially my dad, Brian, who works in the shop in McNutt.
What is your proudest accomplishment while working here?
Earning my bachelor’s degree in philosophy and minor in history in 2022 while working in the MSE office. Many thanks to my mom, Kristy, and my fiancé, Cody, for putting up with all the blood, sweat and tears.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a new CEC staff member?
Don’t be afraid to ask other staff members for help and make connections in other departments across campus.
What advice would you have for a struggling student?
We are here for you and want you to succeed! I was once an S&T student, so I understand how stressful college can be. It’s hard to ask for help sometimes, but don’t be afraid to reach out to staff or use the resources here on campus.
What is something people may be surprised to learn about you?
I do photography on the side — mainly local sports photography. You may have seen some of my shots in the Phelps County Focus. I also take photos for the Westminster College women’s basketball team, which includes my younger sister, Aly.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
If I had a superpower, it would be time travel so I could visit my late grandpa one more time — and maybe catch a Grateful Dead concert!
