Kaylee Denbo and Ginger Ramirez, students studying environmental engineering, were awarded Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships from the U.S. Department of Energy and will spend 10 weeks working at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois, this summer.

Luo receives best paper runner-up

A paper by Dr. Tony Luo, associate professor of computer science, and Xiaohui Chen, a doctoral student in computer science, received runner-up for best paper at the Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining held in Taipei, Taiwan, in May. The paper, titled “Adversarial-Robust Transfer Learning for Medical Imaging via Domain Assimilation,” was presented by Luo.

Reminder: Zotero to be removed from campus computers Aug. 2

Due to security concerns with Zotero, Missouri S&T’s information technology team will retire the use of Zotero on university computer systems. To allow individuals time to transition, the software will remain available until Friday, Aug. 2, when it will be removed from AppsAnywhere and blocked on all university-managed computer systems.
