The Bangladeshi Student Association (BSA) at Missouri S&T held a peace demonstration in solidarity with students in Bangladesh facing government repression Thursday, July 18, beginning in front of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library with a march to the Jack Carney Puck and Plaza and concluding at the Havener Center.
BSA members are worried about their families in Bangladesh who are under curfew and in an internet blackout. Bangladeshi student organizations worldwide support the protesters and face challenges contacting their families. The demonstration called for an end to the violence and urged the Bangladeshi government to address the students’ demands peacefully.
