In 1966, leaders at Missouri S&T founded the world’s first engineering management program. The campus community is invited to join engineering management alumni, students, faculty and staff to celebrate the program’s 50th anniversary at a reception from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the Engineering Management Building. Drop by to enjoy beverages and light appetizers, catch up with friends and share in the history of the program.

Missouri S&T’s St. Pat’s Celebration Committee will reveal the 109th annual Best Ever St. Pat’s sweatshirt design at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the north parking lot of University Book & Supply, on the corner of 12th and Pine streets.

The Central States Microscopy and Microanalysis Society’s fall meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in the Havener Center. CSMMS is a local affiliate of the Microscopy Society of America. Dr. Delbert Day, Curators’ Distinguished Professor emeritus of materials science and engineering, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Day will present “Role of Bio-glass/Microscopy in Health Care.”

The Counseling, Disability Support and Student Wellness staff knows that managing stress at the workplace is a major concern for many people. Stop by the department’s table at the Missouri S&T Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Havener Center.

The Learning Enhancement Across Disciplines (LEAD) program provides free walk-in tutoring and faculty-led learning centers in more than 60 courses.  This includes introductory courses in math, chemistry, physics and computer science, and full operation of several more learning centers.
