Presentations sought for Teaching and Learning Technology Conference

The educational technology department is accepting presentation proposals for the 10th annual Teaching and Learning Technology Conference, which will be held March 16-17, 2017. Download a call for presentations form at tlt.mst.edu/callforpresentations. Proposals will be accepted until Friday, Nov. 18. Decisions regarding acceptance will be made by Friday, Dec. 9. Accepted presenters will be notified between the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, Nov. 24-Dec. 25. Get more details.

Bring your family to celebrate National Chemistry Week

The South Central Missouri Local Section of the American Chemical Society and Missouri S&T’s Schrenk Society will host fun, educational activities for all ages on Saturday, Oct. 22. Hands-on activities for families will be offered 1-3 p.m. in Room 212 Schrenk Hall, followed by a chemistry demonstration show at 3 p.m.

Get your laugh on with discounted tickets for comedian

The Student Union Board’s Laughfest will feature comedian Demetri Martin at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the Gale Bullman Building. Employees and families can purchase tickets at the discounted alumni price of $15 each. Tickets are being sold in SUB’s office on the second floor of the Havener Center and at the door of the show on Oct. 14.

Get your flu shot, earn incentive points

The flu season is almost here, and Healthy for Life will offer two upcoming flu shot clinics. The clinics will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Turner Room of the Havener Center, and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in St. Pat’s Ballroom C of the Havener Center. No appointment is necessary. Eligible employees can earn 50 points for Tier 2 of the 2017 wellness incentive.

Cashier’s office closes temporarily Oct. 18, reopens next day

The cashier’s office, as well as the entire department of fiscal services, which includes accounting, budget, student loan collections and business managers, will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 18, while employees attend a workshop. All offices will return to normal business hours on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
