Missouri S&T’s new shared leave program is now accepting donations to support university community members in need. If you’re an staff member, you can donate some of your accrued vacation hours to the program. Finance office implements travel and expense changes

The University of Missouri System’s office of finance has implemented several changes to the Travel and Expense (T&E) module within PeopleSoft to improve the user experience. The changes became effective July 1. While they may seem small, these changes are expected to increase data accuracy and reduce the number of necessary clicks by 1.5 million a year. Rezaei receives young scientist award

Dr. Fateme Rezaei, right, assistant professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, received the Young Scientist Paper Award at the ninth International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology sponsored by the American Academy of Sciences June 25-29 in Houston. She received the award for her research on formaldehyde adsorption from indoor air.

Fogg’s chapter focuses on wartime aid to France

Dr. Shannon Fogg’s book chapter, “The American Friends Service Committee and Wartime Aid to Families,” was been published by Bloomsbury Academic in the volume, Vichy France and Everyday Life: Confronting the Challenges of Wartime, 1939-1945. Fogg is chair and professor of history and political science.

Scoundrel or gentleman? Ahmad publishes on Navy captain

Dr. Diana Ahmad’s article, “Scoundrel or Gentleman: The Reign of Captain Benjamin Franklin Tilley, U.S.N., on American Samoa, 1900-1901,” was published in the Spring 2018 issue of The Nautilus. Ahmad gives an account of Tilley’s time in American Samoa, which was not the typical story of Western interactions with Pacific Islanders.
