As an invited scholar, Dr. Kathleen Sheppard spoke on Nov. 27 at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, on the conflict surrounding the 1922 discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings. Sheppard is an associate professor of history and political science.

Travel grant goes to students for algae biomass conference

Two S&T students attended the Algae Biomass Summit, held Oct. 14-17 in Houston, with funding from the 2018 Mary Rosenthal Memorial Student Travel Grant. S&T attendees include Laith S. Sabri and Abbas J. Sultan, both graduate students in chemical and biochemical engineering, and Dr. Muthanna H. Al-Dahhan, chair and Curators’ Distinguished Professor of chemical and biochemical engineering.

Disc golf club going to nationals

After winning first place in the Missouri Collegiate Disc Golf Championship held in Columbia in November, Missouri S&T’s Miner Disc Golf Club is heading to the national championship in North Augusta, South Carolina, this April, to compete against more than 35 college golf disc clubs.
