Free mindfulness-based stress reduction

Mindfulness meditation group meets noon-1 p.m. Wednesdays in the Shamrock Room of the Havener Center. The one hour weekly sessions include a brief introduction and a 30-minute guided mindfulness meditation, followed by a brief discussion. This group is designed for both beginning and experienced participants. Explore the many ways that mindfulness meditation can reduce and stress and enhance overall well-being. All students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome. No previous experience with meditation is necessary.

Attend a trivia night and support Miner Challenge

Compete against other teams of students, faculty and staff to see who comes out on top after 100 questions at the Miner Challenge trivia night. The event will be held 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. If trivia is not your strong suit, win your team bonus points by decorating your table. Tables cost $80 if you register online and pay by Friday, Feb. 26. After Feb. 26, the cost is $100 per table. Each table can seat up to eight people.

Student Veteran Resource Center to host lunch council Feb. 17

The Student Veteran Resource Center (SVRC) will host its first lunch council with veterans on campus 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the SVRC. Come by and meet some of the other veterans on campus as we discuss transfer credit and tuition assistance with guests from the registrar’s office. See what the current generation of student veterans are up to. Lunch will be provided.
