Come to Old Iron Works Days

Patty Frisbee, director of new student programs, and Dr. Diana Ahmad, professor of history, will participate in Old Iron Works Days noon-5 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12, at Maramec Spring Park in St. James, Missouri. Frisbee, a 30-year veteran of the event, will demonstrate the classic American art of cornhusk doll making. Ahmad, a first-timer at the event, will tell stories about animals and pioneers who crossed the continent on the Oregon and California Trails. Come see them and the dozens of other participants and enjoy a great day in the 19th century. The event is located at Maramec Spring Park, six miles southeast of St. James, on Hwy. 8. Mike Dilbeck to speak on campus

Residential life will host Mike Dilbeck, a national campus speaker, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Room G-3 Schrenk Hall. Dilbeck’s talk is titled “Response Ability: The Revolution for Courageous Leadership.” The campus community is invited to attend. His talk will focus on the impact of bystander behavior and what students can do to promote a healthier, happier and safer campus community.

Chalk the walk for CoN

Create a sidewalk masterpiece at the second annual Chalk the Walk for Celebration of Nations, which will take place 3-4 p.m. Sept. 24, 25 and 26, in front of the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Chalk will be provided. All designs must include the words “Celebration of Nations” and the date of Sept. 27. Emergency alert system test Sept. 24

Benefits enrollment one-on-ones

Annual benefits enrollment is just around the corner, Oct. 20-31. Eligible employees must actively make a choice this year, even if they are not currently enrolled in medical benefits. Human resources has scheduled town hall meetings and department meetings, but for more specific enrollment questions, employees can schedule a one-on-one meeting to speak with someone in more detail about the plans that are available.
