The university’s Wellness Incentive starts Oct. 1 for all eligible faculty and staff. From October 2014 through September 2015, you can earn up to $450 in your paycheck for taking steps to improve your health. This year includes a two-tier incentive program:

A new event designed for sophomore students only will be launched on campus in October. The Sophomore Summit will be held 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, starting in the McNutt Hall atrium. The event will feature tips from current students speaking on their experiences in co-ops, internships, study abroad, design teams, involvement, leadership and graduate school. All faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Missouri S&T has rescheduled its ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of its geothermal energy system. The event, originally scheduled for Oct. 7, will be rescheduled at a later date to be determined. Campus Sustainability Day will also be rescheduled.

Sign up now for Private Pilot Ground School to get a general introduction to aviation. The course, which starts Oct. 13, helps potential pilots prepare for the FAA Private Pilot and Sport Pilot written exams. Student diversity, outreach and women’s programs invites the campus community attend a celebration for the 40th anniversary of the Minority Engineering and Student Diversity Programs on Saturday, Oct. 18, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. The evening will begin with a cash bar cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. and a dinner at 6:30 p.m. The event is $15 for students and $25 for non-students.
