The Miner Alumni Association invites all faculty and staff to attend Homecoming 2014: The Wizardly World of Miners.  To view the full schedule of events and to register, visit mineralumni.com/homecoming.

The Miner Legends Luncheon will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 17, in St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center. Tickets are $20. Distinguished alumni will receive recognition during the event. Join them to honor the following Miners:

Hugh Cole, who earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering management in 1972, will receive the Robert V. Wolf Alumni Service Award.

Randall Dreiling, who earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1981, will receive the Frank H. Mackaman Volunteer Service Award.

Steven Cary Dunston, who earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering management in 1988, will receive the Alumni Merit Award.

Robert R. Holmes Jr., who earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1987 and a master of science degree in civil engineering in 1989, will receive the Alumni Achievement Award.

Daniel A. Reed, who earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science in 1978, will receive the Alumni Achievement Award.

Dale Spence, who earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering in 1997 and a master of science degree in engineering management in 2005, will receive the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.

Jeffery Thornburg, who earned a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering in 1996, will receive the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.

Dr. Tansel Yucelen, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at S&T, will receive the the Class of 1942 Excellence in Teaching Award.

That evening, attend the Silver and Gold Gathering at Bertelsmeyer Hall. The reception begins at 5 p.m., a heavy hors d’oeuvre buffet 6-8 p.m. and a fireworks show will be at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children under age 6.

Tickets are free for the kick-off tailgate party for those who pre-register online by Friday, Oct. 10. Join an authentic tailgate party from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the alumni tent in Gale Bullman Building parking lot. Tickets purchased at the door are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children under age 6.
