There will be a chilled water outage beginning at noon Monday, Aug. 24, in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Cooling temperatures may vary for the remainder of the day Monday and possibly part of Tuesday morning. The outage will allow contractors to install a new chiller. Starting Monday, Aug. 24, the faculty and staff eConnection will return to its regular schedule of Monday and Thursday morning distribution. Submission deadlines are 3 p.m. the day before they are published. The eConnection will maintain this schedule until after the end of the semester. The Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies (CIES) invites the campus community to attend a research seminar at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, in Room 318 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The seminar, titled “Bond Behavior Between Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) Composites and Concrete: State-of-the-Art and New Challenges,” will be given by Dr. Christian Carloni, an associate professor of structural mechanics at the University of Bologna in Italy.

The Writing Center‘s mission is to help Missouri S&T students become better writers, and it provides support for instructors who believe that strong writing skills are crucial to academic and professional success. It is open for tutoring beginning Monday, Aug. 31, and its staff are available to make 10-minute class presentations introducing students to tutoring services.
