Peru trip open to graduate students
Graduate students can earn three credit hours in Peru during spring break. Dr. Neil Anderson will lead the course, “GEO ENG 6407: Inca Civilization Geotechnical Engineering Practices,” March 22-April 1, 2019. Students must register for GE 6407 by Friday, Dec. 7, to allow for travel arrangements.

Encourage students to explore study-abroad options
Now is the time for students interested in study-abroad trips to make plans. Encourage students to check out pce.mst.edu/credit for details. Faculty-led trips will include:
- England, May 19-June 6, History 3530: History of Science, led by Dr. Kathleen Sheppard, associate professor of history and political science
- Italy, June 10-26, Psych 4992: Cross-cultural Psychology, led by Dr. Jessica Cundiff, assistant professor of psychological science, and Dr. Jillian Schmidt, assistant teaching professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
- Peru, March 22-April 1, Geo Eng 6407: Inca Civilization Geotechnical Engineering Practices, led by Dr. Neil Anderson, professor of geology
Oct. 3 study abroad info. sessions set for England, Italy summer courses
Please encourage students interested in study abroad to learn about upcoming summer courses in England and Italy. An information session will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Meramec-Gasconade Room of the Havener Center. Pizza and drinks will be served. Participants will get course and travel details and valuable tips on how to plan and prepare.

Earn three credits in English while visiting Costa Rica this summer, from Saturday, May 26, through Friday, June 15, 2018. Missouri S&T has joined the Institute for International Education’s Generation Study Abroad Initiative, and committed to doubling the number of S&T students who receive academic credit as part of a study abroad program. To help reach this goal, faculty are invited to submit a proposal for funding to assist in the design of a new study abroad course OR program for S&T students. Grants of $5,000 each are available to help defray costs associated with the development of such a program. The grants will be made available to faculty as a one-time transfer of funds. Attend one of two presentations about the upcoming faculty-led trip to London this summer offered by Dr. Michael Bruening, associate professor of history and political science. They will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 9, in the Missouri Room of the Havener Center and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Ozark Room of the Havener Center. Students participating in this program could earn three upper-level humanities credit hours. The trip will be May 24 to June 5.
