Celebrate student artists tonight

A reception to honor the artwork of S&T students will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Monday, May 6) in the atrium of the Havener Center. At 6 p.m., the Renaissance Student Award will be presented. The award, which includes a $1,000 prize, will be presented by S&T’s arts, languages, and philosophy department. Awards for students in French, film studies and Russian will also be given out.

Memorial celebration honoring Jack Carney planned May 6

The campus community is invited to a memorial celebration to honor Dr. John F. “Jack” Carney III, former chancellor of Missouri S&T, at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, in the Kinyon-Koeppel Grand Hall of Hasselmann Alumni House. Carney died April 24 at his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was 77.

Honor the student artists during a reception 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 6, in the Havener Center Atrium. Enjoy refreshments and vote for the “Best of Show.”

The survey, which has been emailed to students, is voluntary and all responses are anonymous. You can be entered in to win one of two $250 bookstore gift cards.
