Dr. Kathleen Sheppard, professor of history and political science and director for the Center for Science, Technology and Society, will present the next MinerAI seminar, “Does Your Expertise Matter?” The talk is 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in Room 220 of the Computer Science Building.
The seminar will examine how generative artificial intelligence can imitate expertise across disciplines, including computer science, psychology, history, art and music. The discussion will address whether human expertise still matters in an era when AI can generate convincing content and will encourage critical evaluation of generative AI use in academic fields, education and society.
