Apply by March 1 to speak at commencement

Graduating seniors, master’s degree students and Ph.D. students from each college may apply for selection as a student speaker for their Spring 2019 commencement ceremony on Friday, May 17, or Saturday, May 18. (Get the schedule here.) The speakers, who are selected through an application process and competition, must be members of the graduating class they plan to address.

CAFE offers funding for mini-sabbaticals

The Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) is now accepting proposals for its new mini-sabbatical program. Proposals are due Friday, May 18. This program is designed to enable faculty to learn new technologies or build new collaborations for purposes such as: pursuing funding opportunities, building new collaborations for scholarly activities, developing new courses, or enhancing existing classes. All tenured or tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply.

Grants offered for curriculum development

Proposals are being accepted for S&T’s Curriculum Development Faculty Grant program. It is administered by the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI). This award supports the implementation of new sustainable curriculum or instruction methods that infuse entrepreneurial-mindset, innovation, creativity, design thinking, or leadership practices directly into the undergraduate student experience.
