All S&T faculty and staff members will be admitted free to all home athletic events during the 2021-22 school year. As part of Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day on Sept. 18, family members of faculty and staff will also get free admission to the football and volleyball games this Saturday.

Missouri S&T has chosen a new director of athletics and recreation to lead the Miner Athletics program. Melissa Ringhausen, associate director of athletics at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, will head the program starting this summer. She will succeed Mark Mullin, S&T’s director of athletics since 1992, who will retire in September.

Mullin announces plan to retire
Mark Mullin, who has served for nearly three decades as the director of athletics at Missouri S&T, has announced that he will retire from the position following the 2019-20 athletic season.

John Kean, sports information director at Missouri S&T, received the Great Lakes Valley Conference’s (GLVC) Dr. Thomas Kearns Service Award at a reception for the athletic conference May 22 in St. Louis. Also during the conference, Missouri S&T received the GLVC’s Dr. Joseph J. McGowan Visionary Award for the “Pioneers of Miner Women’s Athletics” program.

S&T unveils refreshed visual identity
Student athletes helped Missouri S&T’s athletics department unveil a refreshed visual identity to represent its 17 varsity athletics programs at a ceremony April 11 in the Havener Center atrium. Mark Mullin, athletics director, emceed the event and student athletes threw or handed out items with the new logos, such as pins, balls and bottles. T-shirts with the new marks were sold for $5.99 in the S&T Store immediately following the unveiling.
