Dr. Katherine Grote, associate professor of geosciences and geological and petroleum engineering, was named the 2021 Woman of the Year during a virtual awards ceremony held yesterday (April 21). During the ceremony, Dr. Terry Wilson, associate teaching professor of biological sciences, was presented the Dr. Elizabeth Cummins Women’s Advocate Award. Watch the ceremony.

Academic Planning Committee established

Dr. Stephen Roberts, interim provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, announced on April 14 the formation of an Academic Planning Committee. The committee, which held its first meeting on April 16, will create a strategic plan that analyzes the current status of S&T’s academic programs, academic calendar and instructional modalities.
