Oerther selected to attend 2017 Fulbright alumni conference

Dr. Daniel Oerther, professor of civil, architectural, and environmental engineering, has been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of State Alumni Thematic International Exchange Seminar (Alum TIES) titled “The New Frontiers of Global Public Health.” The conference will be held Feb. 8-11 at Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.

Bruening lectures in France

Dr. Michael Bruening, associate professor of history and political science, gave two guest lectures in French as part of his Fulbright Scholars grant to France. He spoke on “The Network of Jean Morély and the Enemies of John Calvin” at the University of Lyon on Nov. 10, and on “Charles du Moulin and the ‘Moyenneurs’” at the University of Paris-Sorbonne, on Nov. 21.

Bruening named Fulbright scholar

Dr. Michael Bruening, associate professor of history and political science, has been awarded a 2016-17 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Grant to France. The grant will allow him to conduct research during the fall 2016 semester in Paris, where he will be associated with the Centre Roland Mousnier for Early Modern History at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. Bruening also received a University of Missouri Research Board grant to help support his research in France.
