A team of S&T researchers co-authored an article published in the Journal of Language and Social Psychology titled “Bias Toward the Accents of Virtual Assistants.” The article explores users perceptions of the accented voice options for use with Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, and Google Assistant.

Chua awarded the Stafford Beer Medal

Dr. Cecil Chua, associate professor of business and information technology, received the Operational Research Society’s Stafford Beer Medal 2024 for the best paper published in the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) during 2023 for his paper titled “Rethinking Time: Ubichronic Time and Its Impact on Work.”
