Read More »The Missouri S&T community is saddened to learn of the death of Ryan Wesley Swier of Rolla, who passed away Aug. 8 at Phelps Health. Swier was 19 and pursuing computer science and mechanical engineering degrees at S&T.
A “Celebration of Life” service in his memory will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the Rolla chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary. A visitation for family and friends will be held 3-4 p.m. at the chapel prior to the service.
The Missouri S&T community is saddened to learn of the death of Matthew Stevenson of Wildwood, Missouri. He died early this morning at his off-campus apartment as the result of a tragic accident. Matthew was 22 and was pursuing a degree in engineering management.
Read More »Robert Marshall Brackbill, trustee emeritus and past president of the Miner Alumni Association, died May 15 at age 100. Brackbill earned a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from S&T in 1942. He loved Rolla and was a strong supporter of the university and the Sigma Nu fraternity throughout his life.

Read More »Dr. Margie Viola Boston, a longtime faculty member and chair and professor of music and theater at Missouri S&T, passed away Jan. 5 at age 93. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 16, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, Illinois, with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time the memorial service begins at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
