Lambda Sigma Pi and the St. Pat’s Board are hosting the 10th annual St. Pat’s Door Decorating Contest for faculty and staff. Participants must register online by Wednesday, Feb. 28. Doors will be judged at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, and winners will be announced during court arrival on Wednesday, March 14.

One day remains in Leach Theatre’s step challenge

Tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 16) will be the final day to participate in Leach Theatre’s step challenge and earn a free ticket to an upcoming show. Walkers have recorded more than 469,000 steps since the challenge started Jan. 22. For those who wish to continue walking indoors after the step challenge ends, the theater’s auditorium and lobby will remain open 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday through Friday, March 23.

Show your school spirit and pumpkin-carving prowess with a contest. Go to Missouri S&T’s Facebook page for templates or create your own S&T-themed design, carve your pumpkin and post it on S&T’s Facebook page with the phrase #MinerHalloween by noon Tuesday, Oct. 31. (Look for the picture of the carved pumpkin on the Facebook page and then post in the comments section below.) Pumpkins will be judged in three categories: school spirit, most creative and best execution.

Enter your creative work for publication, chance to win

Southwinds, S&T’s creative arts magazine, announces its annual fall contest, open to all students, faculty and staff. Suggested themes, though not required, are mystery, justice and tension, although your creative work does not need to fit into those themes. Please submit your poems, photographs, stories and artwork to swinds@mst.edu by Sunday, Nov. 5. Participants are eligible to win prizes and priority consideration in the magazine.

Where will you take Joe?

The S&T Bookstore is hosting a photo voting contest titled “Where in the world will you take Joe Miner?” The contest starts Saturday, March 22. To enter you must like the bookstore’s Facebook page and submit your picture of Joe Miner with a short description of his location. Seeking students to recite pi

In honor of Pi Day (March 14), the Missouri S&T communications department is hosting a pi recitation contest for current students. If you know a student who can recite at least 20 consecutive digits of pi, encourage them to brush up on their memorization and register for the contest online. The contest will be held 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Havener Center. Participants will be recorded and a video of the event will be shared on Pi Day.
