Learn about retirement planning and the University of Missouri System Retirement Plan at a seminar 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 13. The free seminar will be broadcast via telepresence in Room 201A Curtis Laws Wilson Library. It is designed for faculty and staff who plan to retire in the next 10 years.

Is there an outstanding Missouri S&T staff member you would like to recognize? Nomination forms for the 2018 Staff Excellence Awards are now available. Faculty, staff and students can nominate an outstanding staff member to receive one of nine awards. Nominations are due Monday, April 9. Submit your nomination online or visit the Staff Council website, print the form and follow the directions on the form to submit it.

The Meramec Hills Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists will host “Evening with Nature” 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Rolla Middle School, located at 1111 Soest Road. Missouri S&T’s EcoMiners will have a booth at the event, which will feature more than 25 exhibits by nature-related organizations with interactive activities for children, parents and anyone curious about Missouri’s outdoors. By order of Gov. Eric Greitens, all flags at all Missouri state and government offices will be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset Monday, March 12, in honor of Christopher R. Morton. A police officer, Morton died in the line of duty on March 6.

Hundreds of visitors will be on campus in the coming days for the following events: transfer student advising today (March 8), and Discovery Days on Friday, March 9, and Monday, March 12. The parking operations staff asks for your patience and understanding as parking lots may fill quickly, especially Lot B.
