Read More »At 3:16 a.m. today (Tuesday, Aug. 7), the City of Rolla Fire and Rescue responded to a fire alarm in Toomey Hall. Firefighters determined that a small fire (about the size of a desk) had occurred as part of an experiment in a research lab on the second floor. The sprinkler system extinguished the fire, and fire damage was limited to a desktop and equipment within the experiment. While there was no fire damage to Toomey Hall, there was limited water damage due to sprinkler activation.
