Landscape crews prepare campus to bloom

Missouri S&T’s landscape services staff has planted approximately 10,000 tulip bulbs that – if the weather is wiling – will pop up soon. This winter, the landscape services staff treated sidewalks with approximately 30,000 pounds of calcium chloride and treated parking lots with 150,000 pounds of salt.

PhD candidate to represent Missouri S&T at regional 3MT competition

3-Minute Thesis (3MT) winner Siddesh Umapathi will represent Missouri University of Science and Technology at regional competition on March 21st, 2019. Umapathi, a PhD candidate from the Chemistry department, will travel to St. Louis, MO to compete at the Regional 3MT competition hosted at the 75th Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Annual Meeting. Umapathi competed against 18 other talented Miners to be able to compete at the regional level.

Drinking alcohol during St. Pat’s? Read this first

As we approach St. Pat’s festivities, Missouri S&T’s University Police would like to offer the following information pertaining to alcohol safety.

Consider not drinking at all. If you are driving, mark sure that you and your passengers wear seat belts.

If you decide to drink:

  • Plan your drinking. Think about how much you want to drink before you drink. If you are driving, make sure that you and your passengers wear seat belts.
  • Take care of yourself. Don’t put yourself in a situation where other people might have to take care of you.
  • Don’t ever force or pressure anyone to drink.
  • Know when you have had enough.
  • Never leave your drinks unattended.
  • Designate a sober driver.
