Faculty participation is vital when the university welcomes new students to campus in August. There will be more than 1,200 new students on campus for the 2014 Opening Week orientation. Interested faculty will meet and have lunch with the student mentor groups and discuss faculty expectations and classroom respect. The goal of this activity is to facilitate a positive interaction between new students and faculty. This is your chance to give new students tips on how to be successful in the classroom. The faculty interaction with new students will be from Tuesday, Aug. 19, through Thursday, Aug. 21.

Help welcome new students and their guests to the Missouri S&T campus on: Friday, June 6; Monday, June 9; Friday, June 13; and Friday, June 20. There will also be a PRO session on Saturday, Aug. 16. PRO is an all-day orientation program for new students who plan to start classes at Missouri S&T in the fall 2014 semester. The event will include a live performance from the local 399th Army Band, brief talks from military brass and local officials, and networking opportunities.
