Gavin LaRose, lecturer and assistant research scientist in mathematics at the University of Michigan, will present a lecture titled “Visions of Learning: Student Engagement in Mathematics” at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in Room B-10 Bertelsmeyer Hall. The campus community is invited to attend. LaRose is a 2014 recipient of the Mathematical Association of America’s Haimo Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics and is visiting Missouri S&T as part of the university’s calculus redesign initiative.
