Dr. Fateme Rezaei, assistant professor of chemical and biochemical engineering at Missouri S&T, will give a lecture titled “Adsorption of Carbon Dioxide over Supported Amine Adsorbents in the Presence of Sulfur Oxide and Nitrogen Oxide Impurities,” at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in Room 124 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Dr. William E. Horst will present the sixth annual Dr. Thomas J. O’Keefe Lecture at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in the Planje Auditorium, Room 204 McNutt Hall. Dr. Li-Xing Zhu, structural chair professor and head of mathematics at Hong Kong Baptist University, will visit campus and give two lectures on dimension reduction and variable selection methods. The Research on Concrete Applications for Sustainable Transportation (RE-CAST) university transportation center will host a seminar at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, in Room 209 Computer Science Building. Dr. Antonio Nanni, the Lester and Gwen Fisher Endowed Scholar and professor and chair of the civil, architectural and environmental engineering department at the University of Miami will present “Extending the Life of Concrete Structures: Fiber Reinforced Composite Material (FRCM) Technology.” All faculty and students are invited to attend.

Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics, will present a free lecture to the general public at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in Meeting Room A of The Centre, 1200 Holloway, Rolla. His talk, titled “The Four Forces of Nature,” will describe how the four known forces of nature shape everything we see in the universe, from the smallest to largest scale.
