007: Mission Staff Day
Join Staff Council for 007: Mission Staff Day on Wednesday, May 20. For a detailed schedule of events and a list of raffle items, go to staffcouncil.mst.edu/staffday. Purchase tickets for raffle items 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, outside the Havener Center. Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5. In case of rain, tickets will be sold inside the Havener Center.

The Lyric Live Theater, located at 117 1st Street in Newburg, Missouri, will perform the comedy play “Gum Shoe Diaries” by Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. May 22, 23, 29, and 30. Shows are free and open to the public, with donations appreciated for the performances.

Tickets are still available for the May 14 lecture by Dr. Condoleezza Rice, the 66th U.S. Secretary of State. Rice is the 31st presenter in the Remmers Special Artist/Lecturer Series at Missouri S&T. Rice will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the Gale Bullman Building.

Dr. David Enke, chair of engineering management and systems engineering since 2012, will step down from that role effective June 30. He will remain on campus in a teaching and research capacity. Dr. Suzanna Long, associate professor of engineering management and systems engineering, will serve as interim chair.

The Women in Leadership Conference, held June 22-23 in Columbia, Missouri, will allow University of Missouri System faculty, staff and graduate students to share ideas and discuss topics relevant to gender and leadership in academia while sharpening leadership skills relevant to success. The event is sponsored by the UM System Leadership Development team. All are welcome to attend.

The New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players will perform their acclaimed show “I’ve Got a Little Twist” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, in Leach Theatre. The performers combine famous theatrical music to pay tribute to the legacy of Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert, who jointly produced 14 comic operas in the 19th century.
