Area M Lot 19, near McNutt Hall, will close at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 14. The closure is for Missouri S&T’s Explosives Camp, which will hold a welcome ceremony and small fireworks display for campers.

HREI restructuring announced

Shenethia Manuel, vice chancellor for human resources, equity and inclusion (HREI) announces a reorganized divisional structure with the naming of Judy Ricks as director of human resources. She joins Neil Outar, who was hired earlier this year as director of institutional equity, diversity and inclusion. Human resources questions or concerns will now be directed to Ricks. Educational research mini-grants awarded

Funeral information for Garry Scantlin

Garry Scantlin, retired member of the physical facilities staff at Missouri S&T, died Saturday, June 6. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Tuesday, June 9) in the St. James Chapel of the James and Gahr Mortuary, 117 Seymour St. in St. James, Missouri. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, in the same location.

Mr. Scantlin joined the staff of Missouri S&T in April 1999 and retired in September 2010. He is the husband of Betty Scantlin, telecommunication IT analyst in information technology.

Fireworks at the mine

Fireworks displays will be visible at the Experimental Mine, located on Bridge School Road in southeast Rolla, on two Fridays in June for the conclusion of each Explosives Camp session. The fireworks will begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, and Friday, June 26. Parking is limited at the mine. For more information about the fireworks or Explosives Camp, email Dr. Gillian Worsey, assistant adjunct professor of mining and nuclear engineering.
