Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Girls in fourth through eighth grade and their parents or guardians are invited to Missouri S&T to learn about the fun of engineering. Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in the Havener Center. IGED gives students a chance to explore engineering through hands-on activities and engaging demonstrations hosted by volunteers, student organizations, corporate partners and community organizations. This event is sponsored by Halliburton, Society of Women Engineers and the department of student diversity, outreach and women’s programs. The event is free but registration is required. Fulbright Scholar to give seminar Feb. 10

The RE-CAST University Transportation Center and Fulbright Scholar Program will co-sponsor a guest lecture at noon Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Room 209 Computer Science Building. Dr. Saverio Spadea, research fellow at the University of Bath in the UK and visiting Fulbright Scholar at the University of Miami, will give a lecture titled “Bespoke FRP Reinforcement for Optimized Concrete Structures.” All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the seminar.
