The Missouri S&T Solar House Design Team will host a 5K green run/walk Saturday, April 22. Registration will open at 11 a.m. and the race will begin at noon at the Solar Village, on the corner of 10th Street and Poole Avenue. A green run is similar to a color run — participants will begin with white clothes and get decorated with paint powder as they complete the course. To celebrate Earth Day, it will be green powder.

University of Missouri System’s accounts payable shared services team will present “Tips for Using the Supplier Module and Creating Payment Requests” at two sessions Monday, April 17, in Room 235 of the Engineering Management Building. The training is designed for employees who work directly with these transactions, approve them or supervise employees who do. Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Choose to attend training at 10-11:30 a.m. or 1-2:30 p.m. Register on the accounts payable shared services site.

Join other instructors in discussing and seeing versatile active learning strategies that can be used for various class sizes and disciplines at “Developing Versatile Active Learning Strategies for Your Course.” The session will be held noon-1 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. Participants will also learn about Missouri S&T’s growing connection with KEEN, a network of university partners working to transform U.S. engineering education. Desserts, snacks and drinks will be provided. RSVP to Diane Hagni, program support specialist, by Monday, April 3.

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Business invites all CASB faculty and staff to an open meeting 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in Room G-5 of the Humanities and Social Sciences Building. The goals of the meeting are to celebrate accomplishments within the college, seek feedback from faculty and staff, and promote positive and sustained engagement.

Drop by the Curtis Laws Wilson Library to view the works of 25 student artists and vote for your favorite piece of art. The winner will receive the People’s Choice Award. The library art committee also will award a Best of Show prize and an honorable mention during a reception at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, in the library.

Full-time instructors are invited to apply for funding to develop and execute new curriculum or instruction on topics of entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, creativity, design thinking or leadership for undergraduate students. The scope of the project can range from developing a new module in an existing course to designing a brand new course, or anything in between. This is the second round of funding for these grants funded by the S&T Innovation Team and formerly known as the Innovation in Education grant program.
