The Rolla Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at 9:25 p.m. yesterday (Nov. 9) at Little Caesars in Rolla. Officers continue to follow up on leads. More information will be posted at alert.mst.edu as it becomes available.

Ron Caraway, a systems security analyst, died Nov. 7. Visitation will be held noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel in Salem, Missouri. A memorial service for Caraway will follow at 2 p.m. at the chapel.

Missouri S&T has recently been re-accredited to have its employees work in federal government ranks for a period of up to two years with salaries reimbursed to the university. As part of the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (commonly called the “IPA program”), the federal government can borrow expertise from the public and private sectors.

University Police has received a complaint of attempted fraud related to unsolicited telephone calls. The department reminds the campus community to keep the following tips in mind when receiving a phone call or email:
- No reputable company or organization will call you to tell you owe taxes or have an unpaid debt, such as electricity or telephone. No legitimate company will require you to send funds electronically or place funds on a pre-paid card to satisfy a debt. If in doubt, hang up the phone and call the police. Read More »
Policy open forum planned today
Share your thoughts on a proposed policy and updates to a current policy at an open forum 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B in the Havener Center. The discussion will focus on a proposed policy to establish guidelines on hoverboards and a proposed update for Missouri S&T’s current policy on developing policies. Ron Caraway, a systems security analyst at S&T, was killed in a traffic accident this morning (Nov. 7).

By order of U.S. President Donald Trump, all flags at state and government offices will be flown at half-staff, effective immediately, to honor the victims of the Sutherland Springs, Texas, shooting. The order will remain in effect until sunset Thursday, Nov. 9.
