Learn about data carpentry at workshop

Dan Voss from Florida State University is joining the Midwest Big Data Hub to present a two-day data carpentry workshop to demonstrate the uses of computerized data analysis in genomics. The workshop will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, in Havener Center, the weekend before the S&T’s Research and Technology Development (RTD2018) conference.

Topology seminar meets twice weekly

Missouri S&T’s topology seminar meets 3-5 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays each week. The seminar is held in Room G4 Rolla Building on Mondays and Room 103 Centennial Hall on Wednesdays. Feel free to join the seminar, which is often focused on continuum theory.

Campus visitors can opt in for Rave Guardian

Missouri S&T has contracted with Rave Guardian to enhance the security and safety for campus visitors, vendors, and guests with an “opt-in” protocol for S&T’s mass notification messages. Vendors, visitors, and guests can text MinerEvent to 78015 and they will receive any mass notification messages generated by the University during the day they opt in. The opt-in expires at midnight.
