Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader and her husband, Jeff Schrader, will host a holiday reception for S&T faculty and staff members on Monday, Dec. 16. Drop by between the hours of 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. at the Chancellor’s Residence, 506 W. 11th St.

The University of Missouri System will upgrade the Remedy System on Saturday, Dec. 14. If you experience any issues after the upgrade or have any questions, contact your local IT Help Desk at 341-4357.

Drop off your GRACE for Christmas donations before Tuesday, Dec. 3, as the boxes will be picked up on that Tuesday. Types of donations accepted include canned food, non-perishable food items, new toys and books. Grace provides food, clothing and toys to more than 700 families in the local community every year.

The National Board of Directors of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) announced that Steve Tupper, Fort Leonard Wood liaison in the office of sponsored programs, is included in the 2014 class of members named as Fellows of the Society. Tupper joins Angela Rolufs, director of the office of sustainable energy and environmental engagement, as the second member of the Missouri S&T community to join the SAME Academy of Fellows.

Enrollment for the spring 2014 Accent Modification Program (AMP) is now open to ranked faculty in teaching positions, tenure-track faculty and tenured faculty.

Faculty and staff interested in taking students abroad on a faculty-led, short-term exchange are invited to participate in a webinar about student health and safety abroad. The webinar, presented by NAFSA: Association of International Educators, will be held 2-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in Room 101-B Southwestern Bell Cultural Center. There will be a power outage from 6-7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, in Harris Hall. The entire electrical system will be turned off during this time. Faculty and staff should turn off all electrical equipment on Tuesday evening for the outage. During the outage, there will be no lights, elevator or computers.

The international affairs, student services and sponsored students department has temporarily moved to the third floor of Altman Hall while its regular offices are being renovated.
