NEH grant builds bridge between humanities, engineering

Whitworth honored with AIChE student award

Mathias Whitworth received the 2017 American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Virtus Dynamical Chemical Engineering Student Award, sponsored by MYNAH Technologies, on April 12 in St. Louis. He received the award for outstanding scholarship and service to AIChE. In addition to many other accomplishments, he has led the AIChE Chem-E-Car team for two years.

Jeopardy! Chemical engineering students heading to nationals

Dr. Christi Luks, associate professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, accompanied 25 chemical engineering undergraduate students to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Mid-America Regional Student Conference March 30-April 2 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Earth day draws hundreds

Rain did not dampen the celebration of Earth Day at Missouri S&T on April 20. The event drew more than 900 children from Rolla and area schools and more than 40 exhibitors that provided hands-on activities. While visiting campus, University of Missouri System President Mun Choi stopped by the festivities.

Bruening publishes book of Reformation debates

Dr. Michael Bruening, associate professor of history and political science, is the author of a new sourcebook for college-level classes on the Reformation period. In A Reformation Sourcebook: Documents from an Age of Debate, Bruening presents the debates of the Reformation era through more than 80 primary sources, and provides an essay on how to read primary sources. Bruening translated 14 of the source documents from Latin or French. The book is published by University of Toronto Press.

Two S&T faculty present at space debris conference in Germany

Missouri S&T was well represented at the Seventh European Conference on Space Debris April 17-21 at the European Space Operations Center in Darmstadt, Germany. The conference attracted attendees from all over the globe, and was featured prominently in media, including the Washington Post, space.com, Space Daily, and The Guardian.
